Harry Reid in CommitteesPart of only one committee called the SSCI as an ex officio. The SSCI is also known as the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, made up of 19 members: 10 Republicans, 8 Democrats, and 1 Independent. This committee was created in 1976 by the Senate to help with the studies being done for the U.S. Government in programs and intelligence activities. They also review legislation proposals and make sure it does not override the Constitution's laws.
